When I look at you I am confused.
Your gaze as wide as if diffused.
Your smile but a dim crescent like the moon.
Your heart seems sheltered by a bizarre cocoon.
And yet, only little knows the world,
about your struggles far and wide.
You seem so certain, as if unheard
That YOU doubt the most if you are right.
Do you know who you are?
You have faithful companions, such as guilt.
A heart so big and yet unfilled.
The wish to love and spreading joy.
The wish to be heard – since you were just a boy.
And so you shout – but no one hears!
You cry – but no one fears
That you out of all would be the one that needs assistance.
When after all, your stubborness is just desperate resistance.
Do you know what you want?
You ask your mother: Am I a good man?
You ask your father: Are you proud?
You ask your brother: Do you love me?
Only to realize that for them you are only part of a passing cloud.
And so unintentionally you hurt others,
no matter if friends, family, or brothers.
Your wear your emotions on your shirt,
but it is ripped – so you stay hurt.
BUT IT HURTS TO HURT!
Do you know what you are doing?
Whenever you think about implications,
you run into trouble with ramifications.
When things go bad and people get mad,
you wonder how many failures you had.
The blosom of your youth is withered, and without knowing you slithered,
into 16 wonderful years, with more than just one of your peers.
She turned you around, left you unbound, safe and sound –
but now she is gone.
Do you know where you are going?
So, again, you are surrounded by a hundred people –
But you feel alone.
You go out every night –
But you feel alone.
You go on stage and entertain –
But you feel alone.
But don’t you worry! This is you!
Whatever you do, just stay true!
From the bottom of my heart I’ll give you advise
That no matter where your redemption lies –
Despite all my efforts and actions
I’ll have to stop talking so much to my own reflections.
